During the process of driving a pile or constructing a pile in the ground, things can occur to cause an interruption in the integrity (i.e. continuity) of the concrete in the pile and so make it weaker than it should be. There are many techniques for investigating a pile concrete’s integrity, but the two that have been most frequently used in South Africa are:
the “Low Strain Impact” (or “Low Strain Dynamic”) test;
and the “Cross Hole Sonic Logging” test.
Tambew offers the LOW STRAIN IMPACT test.
